OUR MISSION
TECHNICAL EXCELLENCE IN HVAC HIRING
At MEP Evals, we are fixing a costly flaw in the consulting engineering sector: the lack of objective, technical vetting during the recruitment process.
AN UNFORTUNATELY COMMON EXPERIENCE
Major design issues are found during QAQC
Two days before your submission, a basic error by a design engineer is caught by your senior reviewer.
However, the damage is done and it has permeated throughout the design.
The scramble to fix the design begins, while you already know you're going into the red.
The crucial missing step:
Traditional HR processes do not evaluate fundamental engineering competency.
In the HVAC industry, hiring has traditionally relied on matching resume keywords and checking project lists. Every year, firms hire candidates who look excellent on paper but struggle with design.
By the time leadership realizes an engineer lacks foundational skills, thousands of dollars have been wasted on training, project delays, and design revisions. We started MEP Evals to help mitigate that reality.
Our methodology
Built by engineers, for engineers
We do not offer generic, automated HR testing. Our evaluations are built specifically for the nuances of HVAC consulting.
Practical Problem Solving
Our evaluations test real world knowledge that is needed on a day-to-day basis.
Core Competency Verification
We verify that candidates understand the basics of psychrometrics, load calculation, equipment, and system design.
Zero Burden on Your Team
We handle the screening completely, handing your hiring managers a clear scorecard of a candidate's capabilities.
Meet the founder
Adam Schwartz, PE
Founder & Principle Engineer
MEP Evals was founded by a licensed Professional Engineer with over 20 years of hands-on experience as a Senior HVAC design engineer. Having spent two decades leading complex mechanical design teams, managing project delivery, working closely with many engineers, and being a part of the hiring process, he experienced the industry's hiring problem firsthand.
After seeing firms repeatedly lose time and revenue by hiring underqualified people, he designed MEP Evals to bridge the gap between human resources and technical engineering demands. His goal is simple: help MEP firms protect their bottom line by identifying top-tier HVAC talent.
